Waterford Concert Series
In 1994, when a family chamber orchestra with a grant but no venue inquired about the Waterford Old School stage, they were welcomed enthusiastically. A long-held dream by local music lovers came to pass: a concert committee was created and the program for 1995 chosen. The Waterford Concert Series was born. Beginning with a world famous clarinet performer, the Metropolitan Opera National Audition Regional Finalists and a vocal octet, the concert series presented new and well-known classical musicians each year to an audience that grew in number and enthusiasm, and developed a mission to promote the timeless beauty of classical music to a diverse audience locally and throughout the region.
Keep Loudoun Beautiful - Volunteer Opportunity
Keep Loudoun Beautiful (KLB) is a volunteer-run nonprofit founded in 1972 that works to keep Loudoun County clean and attractive. It focuses on preventing litter, educating residents, and organizing community cleanups. The group protects natural areas and local scenery, depending on volunteers and community involvement to run hundreds of cleanups each year.

Horse Trials at Morven Park
Horse Trials are part of a sport called “eventing,” which began more than a century ago among mounted cavalry officers as a demonstration of their horses’ strengths and their own riding skills.
Morven Park has been host to recognized Horse Trials since 1973, under the direction of cavalry master Major John Lynch and the Morven Park International Equestrian Institute. Today, we are proud to continue this legacy and host the Morven Park Spring Horse Trials and the Morven Park International & Fall Horse Trials. As one of five venues in the United States to hold a CCI4*-L competition, we invite competitors and spectators to enjoy the exciting, multi-phase discipline of eventing at all levels.
Claude Moore Community Builders
CMCB participants (a.k.a “Builders”) are matched with non-profits where they serve as volunteer interns. Builders also participate in group service activities where they provide support to organizations holding special events, such as the Ryan Bartel Foundation’s annual 5k Color Run, tournaments sponsored by the Special Olympics, and the Sterling Foundation’s annual SterlingFest.
Builders are also required to attend CMCB training sessions where they learn professional skills they will use throughout their lives. Topics covered during these trainings include communication, leadership, collaboration, and mental health. Applicants to this widely recognized, teen volunteer and leadership program must be rising 10th-12th grade Loudoun County residents.
